THE Zambia Body Building and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) has hailed local bodybuilders Sylvester Mwila and Clement Shamboko for winning bronze and silver at the Mr. Arnold Classic in the heavyweight category held in the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Speaking in an interview from South Africa, ZBBFF president Cornelius Chanda said he was happy with the performance of the two Zambian bodybuilders.
Chanda said that Mwila, who is the reigning Mr. Zambia and Shamboko performed well against very strong competition from different countries. He said the two top bodybuilders performed to expectations and managed to win medals, Silver and a Bronze respectively.
“I’m happy with the performance by our guys. They really put in a lot of hard work to ensure that they minted medals at the tournament which had a number of top-notch bodybuilders,” Chanda said. He said that it was good that
Zambia had two people in the top three of a category which was highly contested. Mwila collected a silver medal after coming out second while Shamboko who was runners up Mr. Zambia in 2018 came out third and managed to walk away with bronze.
Nigerian body builder Odifey Olasumbo beat Mwila and Shamboko for the Mr. Arnold Classic Gold medal. Meanwhile, Joseph Mwale who is the current Mr. Kabwata and current Mr. Ironman were placed 5th in the light heavyweight category at the tournament.
