LUSAKA Dynamos shot to second place in Super Division Stream A with a 3-1 victory over rusty Green Buffaloes at National Heroes Stadium yesterday.

The home side, Dynamos, are now just two points behind Zanaco and a point better than Kabwe Warriors while Buffaloes are third from the bottom with five points.

It was Dynamos third win of the season from six games played.

Dynamos took the lead in third minute through a spot kick after striker Conlyde Luchanga was brought down by the keeper. Congolese Chris Mugalu made no mistake and converted the penalty.

Buffaloes reorganised as Sabastian Mwansa caused havoc in Dynamos with one of his efforts hitting the side net. Dynamos were caught napping in 32nd minute as Happy Kaunda equalised for Buffaloes.

In second half, Dynamos were a better side and managed to cut off rampaging Buffaloes from the midfield with rapid counter attacks. Ocean Mushure put Dynamos back in the lead on 60th before substitute Aubrey Funga sealed the victory 20 minutes later.

Dynamos assistant coach Stephen Mwansa described the 3-1 win as ‘sweet’ victory for his team.

“Buffaloes were a better side in first half, but at halftime, we spoke to the boys and they were back in the game. This is indeed sweet victory for us, we prepared well and got what we wanted,” he said.

Meanwhile, Circuit City edged Maestro United of Zambia (MUZA) 2-1 to break into the top four of Stream B.

Biston Banda broke the deadlock in 60th minute and within two minutes, Paul Mwiiya double the tally for Circuit. Mandra Muleya got the consolation goal for MUZA who remained rooted at the bottom with only a point having recorded their fifth defeat.

Circuit are fourth with 10 points.
