THE planned upgrading to bituminous standard of the Precem Road in Lusaka’s Chunga Ward has elated councilor, Kangwa Kambani.

Ms Kambani told the Daily Nation in an interview, that she was excited that government had finally decided to upgrade the Precem Road.

Ms Kambani disclosed that the Road Development Agency (RDA) had indicated it would most likely start grading of the Precem Road next month in readiness to upgrade it to bituminous standard and connect it to the Shifwankula Road.

She could not however specify when the road would be upgraded to bituminous standard.

Mr. Mwitwa said that so far only 3.5 kilometers of the roads in Chunga Ward had been upgraded to bituminous standard but assured the people that more roads would be worked on soon.

Meanwhile, Ms Kambani has advised people in her ward to avoid politicking development so that everyone could benefit.

“Some people want to politicise every development brought to this area. Let us avoid doing that so that everyone could benefit,” she said.
