THE Constitutional Court has set March 19 for the hearing of a petition by former Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili to stay the decision of the Speaker of the National Assembly to declare his seat vacant.

Judge Martin Musaluke yesterday said he would hear in chambers Mr Kambwili’s interparte summons for interim reliefs pursuant to order 10 rule 2 of the rules of the Constitutional Court rules Act number 8 of 2016.

In this matter, Mr Kambwili petitioned the Constitutional Court to declare that his seat did not fall vacant as ruled recently by the Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini.
