I wish to congratulate the Zambia under 20 national team on beating Malawi 2-0 in the opening match of the COSAFA football tournament.
The tournament is being hosted by Zambia. Zambia is in Group A alongside Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), Malawi and Mozambique.
The first fixture for Group A was played last Saturday at Nkana Stadium on the Copperbelt.
The victory meant that Zambia is at the summit of Group A with 3 points.
The brace in the second half on 62 minute and 86 minute by under 20 international and Brave Kabwe Warriors midfielder, Prince Mumba was enough for the junior Chipolopolo Boys to claim victory.
The fixture against Malawi was very tough as the two teams played to a barren draw in the first stanza of the game.
The tactical changes by Zambia Under-20 coach, Charles Bwale paid off in the second half.
He introduced Prince Mumba and Mwiya Malumo for Emmanuel Mwinde and Lameck Banda respectively.
It is good that Zambia have started on a victorious note by amassing the full maximum points. The team is poised for winning the coted trophy.
The junior Chipolopolo Boys should continue working hard and remain focused in the remaining fixtures.
Go boys go and conquer. The Charles Bwale coached side has what it takes to win the regional football tournament.
Soccer fan Lusaka.
