THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Southern Province says President Lungu is the Head of State for all Zambians despite some ill feelings that some opposition parties have against him.

In an interview in Lusaka yesterday, PF Southern provincial information and publicist secretary Trymore Mwenda said those blaming President Lungu’s government on the late distribution of farming inputs and other challenges faced in the agriculture sector must be sincere and understand the root cause of the problem.

“How long did it take for President Lungu to form Cabinet after winning the elections? Because of some court actions against his election, it took about two months for the President to form Cabinet and some decisions on key Government programmes like the Farmer Input Support Programme can only be made by Cabinet,” Mr. Mwenda said.

He said it was unfortunate that some people in the opposition could still fail to recognize President Lungu who was duly elected by the people of Zambia for a five-year mandate.

“As such it becomes very unfortunate because he was given a five-year mandate by the people of Zambia. Every person, regardless of the province where you come from, we are all under the leadership of the elected man; a humble leader in the name of Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

“Therefore, our appeal as PF in Southern Province is that whatever differences that people may have, whatever issues that may be outstanding, the best thing is for them to use right institutions so that they air out their grievances.

“Otherwise, as far as we are concerned and many Zambians, we are under the leadership of Edgar Chagwa Lungu. There could be certain issues that our brothers and sisters in the opposition are not happy with, are not comfortable with, but right channels must be used other than denying people’s choice,” he said.
