THE North-Western Province administration and other stakeholders have been praised for spearheading preparations and hosting of the Investment exposition.
Patriotic Front provincial chairperson Jackson Kungo said the coordinated efforts during the preparations and hosting of the event by the provincial administration, and various stakeholders such as the Likumbi lya Mize organising committee, deserved praise.
He said the expo which was opened by President Lungu on August 19, signalled the unveiling of hidden treasures to both local and foreign investors and the need for them to take advantage of the event by participating in the developmental process of the province and the country as whole.
Mr Kungo said stakeholders should move as a united front and contribute towards transforming the province into a tourism and economic hub.
“As a province, we are one and our energies need to be diverted to unveiling the hidden treasures that the province is endowed with without looking at our political affiliations, religion, race or tribe,” he said.
And Mr Kungo has said the PF government valued the need to work closely with traditional leaders adding that Government would continue to support the traditional ceremonies as they depict the Zambian cultural heritage.
He was speaking when he officiated at the Likumbi lya Mize fundraising dinner in Zambezi yesterday.
Mr Kungo said he was happy with the step taken by traditional leaders in the province to work closely with the government of the day.
“Inviting me to come and grace thus event is evident that we are working closely and appreciate the leadership of our President,” he said.
He said he was also happy that the Likunbi lya Mize that had been held alongside the expo, was among the hidden tourism treasures the province boasts of.
And organising committee chairperson Christopher Sangambo described the event as a unifying factor.
