LUSAKA’s Garden Compound Police have appealed to residents whose household goods have been stolen, to visit the police station to check for them from among the items recently recovered from suspected thieves.

Mandevu’s Ngwerere Ward 19 councillor, Adrian Banda, announced yesterday that the police in the area had recovered some stolen households goods and that they were calling upon residents who had lost property to come forward to claim their properties.

Mr. Banda told the Daily Nation that the Ward Crime Prevention Unit, working with the police, have managed to apprehend some suspected criminals in the area and recovered a number of stolen household goods.

Mr Banda said the anti-crime action follows complaints of break-ins and thefts of household goods reported in the area in the past few months.

He said that other than the household goods, various weapons, suspected to have been used during the break-ins, were also recovered.

He warned criminals to desist from terrorising residents as the “the long arm of the law” would soon catch up with them.

Mr Banda thanked the police and the Ward Crime Prevention Unit for their hard work and determination to rid Garden Compound of criminals.
