THE Patriotic Front (PF) on the Copperbelt has urged councillors who have been elected in the Luapula and Kansuswa local government by elections to get down to work immediately and fulfil their campaign promises.
Copperbelt PF Information and Publicity Secretary Kelvin Sinyangwe said the newly-elected councillors in Luapula ward of Kalulushi and Kansuswa in Mufulira should not waste time celebrating their victory, but get down to work.
Speaking in an interview in Kitwe yesterday, Mr Sinyangwe said the ruling party had retained the two seats in grand style, but warned against complacency among PF members.
“Most importantly, our new councillors should not forget the people, but they should work hard to fulfil their campaign promises. A Councillor who is always with the people is a good leader,” Mr Sinyangwe said.
Mr Sinyangwe who is former Kitwe Mayor also said PF would continue working hard to retain the confidence among the citizens.
