I’AM disappointed with the violence that has characterised the Sesheke Parliamentary by-election campaigns, says President Edgar Lungu.
The Head of State called on parents to advise their children to refrain from violence, saying they have never heard him fight with the UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema therefore the party members should emulate the two leaders.
President Lungu made the remarks in Sesheke yesterday where he was drumming up support for the PF candidate Dean Masule in next Tuesday’s by-elections.
Meanwhile the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) in Sesheke constituency has suffered a major setback after more 300 of members resigned to join the PF. Speaking on behalf of the defectors during a Public rally addressed by President Lungu at Katima Mulilo Secondary School, Nalikwanda Constituency Chairperson Lubuwo Simakumba said they decided to join the ruling party because they were tired of suffering. And welcoming the defectors, President Lungu urged old members of PF to embrace the new comers and work with them in developing the nation.
The President is today expected to hold two public rallies in Imusho and Kalobolelwa wards
