IT is time for UPND vice president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba to leave the opposition party as he addresses the media, Former UPND chairperson for Security Captain Cosmas Moono has said.
Capt Moono who also served as UPND Member of Parliament for Chilanga Constituency from 2001 to 2006 said it was high time that GBM left the opposition party.
Mr Mwamba, he said, should make a mature and well calculated political decision.
He told the Daily Nation in an interview that UPND’s action towards Mr Mwamba, popularly known as GBM, was an indicator that the party had no respect for him, despite all he did in Northern Province and other parts of the country.
“Sometimes it’s better for one to leave the stage while the music is still playing and people are still clapping. I expect GBM to make a good political decision. It is really sad to see the way he is being mistreated by the party he worked hard for,” Capt Moono said.
Capt Moono advised Mr Mwamba that his suspension from UPND should be an eye opener that there was no future for him in the opposition party.
“GBM should not waste his time in UPND, his days are gone. There is no future for him in UPND and time will tell, there is nothing left for him. He can only redeem himself by making a mature, well calculated political decision,” he said.
