NATIONAL Democratic Congress leader Chishimba Kambwili must apologise for misleading the nation on the value of the newly commissioned Bangweulu Regional Hospital, Chinsali Central Member of Parliament Kalalwe Mukosa has demanded.
Mr Mukosa said it was unfortunate that Mr Kambwili had continued to peddle falsehoods against President Edgar Lungu and his government for political expedience.
Mr Mukosa said President Lungu was very clear on the value of Bangweulu hospital and lies by Mr Kambwili were laughable.
“In the video circulating on social media Mr Kambwili is alleging that Bangweulu Regional Hospital will cost 154 million United States dollars yet President Lungu was very clear in his speech when he said the hospital was going to be constructed at the value of K154,174,340.72 which is equivalent to 11 million dollars ,” Mr Mukosa said.
Mr Mukosa said Mr Kambwili was maliciously misleading people to dent the name of the head of State.
He urged Mr Kambwili to retract his “lies and apologise” because such falsehoods had the potential to cause anarchy in the nation.
Meanwhile, PF Isoka district youth chairperson Kenny Siwale has advised Mr Kambwili to go for a mental checkup.
Mr Siwale said the rate at which Mr Kambwili was peddling lies and misinformation to mislead the nation was worrying and suspected that something had gone wrong with the former information minister.
“We strongly advise Mr Kambwili to seek mental checkup because we strongly believe that something has gone wrong with the big man looking at rate at which he is insulting, lying and ranting,” Mr Siwale said. Mr Siwale said insulting and lies against President Lungu and the PF government would not cause Zambians to stop supporting PF because they knew what the party stood for.
He said the behaviour exhibited Mr Kambwili showed immaturity and that his ambitions to get to state house were out of frustration.
Mr Siwale advised Mr Kambwili to tell the people what NDC stands for opposed to continue lies, falsehoods and insults against the Head of State.
Mr Siwale said Zambians should not listen to Kambwili whom he said was power hungry.
