SENIOR Chief Mujimanzonvu of the Kaonde-speaking people of Mushindamo has commended Government for taking development in his chiefdom.
The traditional leader stated that his chiefdom has benefitted a lot in terms of development.
Chief Mujimanzonvu cited the establishment of a fully-fledged secondary school in the chiefdom as one of the developments.
He said the chiefdom has had no secondary school, which was a big challenge for school going children.
“Apart from that, the chiefdom has seen the upgrading of a good number of primary schools to secondary school level. And that is a plus for us,’’ the traditional leader said.
He was speaking when North-Western Province permanent secretary Ephraim Mateyo called on him at his palace on Saturday. He also thanked the government for erecting two communication towers. He said the erection of the two towers will ease communication challenges the chiefdom has had in the past. He also appealed to the government to erect more communication towers in the chiefdom so that the majority of the people can have access to communication.
And Mr Mateyo commended the traditional leader for maintaining peace in his chiefdom.
He said the was proud of the chiefdom for being a role model in terms of peace.
