LUMWANA Community Trust (LCT) of Kalumbila district in North-Western Province has handed over education and health facilities in the three chiefdoms it supports.
The property includes a classroom block at Matebo Secondary School, an incinerator at Mumbezhi Clinic and fencing for the abattoir at Mumena. Others are a poultry and hammer mill in Mukumbi.
Kalumbila District Commissioner Robinson Kalota, who received the structures, said Government was committed to providing quality education and good health to the people of Kalumbila district.
Mr Kalota said Government wanted everyone to access proper health and education facilities.
He commended LCT and the contractors for the quality works done on all the projects.
“The structures are of good quality, and we commend LCT and the contractors for doing a good job,” Mr Kalota said.
He warned the people in the three chiefdoms against vandalising the property and that anyone who would be caught would be prosecuted.
Chief Matebo thanked Lumwana Mine for building a block of three classrooms at Matebo Secondary School.
He said the building would help improve the performance of pupils at the school.
The traditional leader urged his subjects to look after the infrastructure so that their children could benefit from it.
