PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu says Zambia has mainstreamed the African Union flagship programme Agenda 2063 in its current national development plan.
President Lungu says Zambia’s development programming and implementation is firmly anchored on and seeks to contribute to the achievement of the continental aspirations.
He said the Zambian Government had already started implementing projects towards the 2063 Agenda that included the establishment of public and private tertiary education institutions with ICTs to promote e-learning for participation in the pan African virtual University.
The President said Government was facilitating communication infrastructure, such as Communication Towers and the laying of fiber optic across the country.
He emphasised that Zambia was committed to work with other Member States towards the attainment of the continental Aspirations as envisaged in Agenda 2063.
The President further congratulated the chairperson of the African Union, President of Egypt, His Mr. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for assuming the important role of becoming the Chairperson of the African Union.
