MORE than K184, 000 has been spent to rehabilitate damaged boreholes across Msanzala constituency in Petauke and Lusangazi districts in Eastern province, Msanzala Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Daka has said.

Mr Daka also said that about 56 boreholes  had  been repaired while 14 solar taps were being installed in Msanzala constituency.

The MP said that the provision of safe and clean drinking water had remained top priority in his constituency.

Mr Daka said Government would ensure that all the people benefited from the country’s resources.

He added that people living in rural areas worked very hard and needed access to clean water, good roads, and access to health and education facilities among other services.

During his tour of the constituency, Mr Daka also distributed mealie meal in Lusangazi to avert the hunger that was as a result of a poor harvest. He said rural areas were included in the current developmental projects the Government had embarked on.

Mr Daka said it was his duty to explain to people the different developmental projects implemented in the constituency.

He said the Government would continue to deliver development to the rural parts of the country in its quest to improve activities that form the basis of a livelihood for most people.
