Mr. Chihili was speaking in an interview with the Daily Nation.
“We have secured100, 000 hectares of land for a farming bloc which we want to exploit for local and foreign investors to come and invest in agriculture,” he said.
He said the district had developed three bankable projects under agriculture, mining and tourism sectors to attract investors.
He said a number of investors had already shown interest to invest in Mushindano especially in the agriculture sector.
Mr Chihili urged local and foreign investors to consider setting up investments in Mushindamo because the district had a lot of potential for businesses to grow.
He said that some investors were already carrying out mining exploration in some parts of the district.
“What is taking us back is that you will find that all the areas are already on other people’s licences, “he said.
Mr Chihili appealed to line ministries to consider cancelling some of the mining licences given to some firms which were not active in the district. He also said there was urgent need to work on the road network in the district to improve accessibility and attract more investments.
Government, he said has already mobilised funds to work on the Solwezi-Kipushi road to enhance trade between Zambia and the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo.
