SYLVESTER Mwila on Friday remained an undisputed champion as he outmuscled nine other contestants to bag his ninth Mr Zambia title.
At a colourful event staged at Radisson Blu hotel, the Kabwata gymnasium towering body builder was in a class above all, showcased his well-built biceps and triceps.
Mwila walked away with K10, 000 prize money and a humper while runner up Clement Shamboko got K5000 and third placed Joseph Mwale pocketed K3, 000. Patrick Kalenga was fourth while highly rated contender to Mwila, 2018 Mr. Matero Emmanuel Nkonde came fifth.
And the Zambia Body Building and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) took the opportunity to unveil Bibian Mwaba of Nchanga gym as the first female body bodybuilder in Zambia. Speaking in an interview after baging his ninth title, Mwila was happy his long hours of training had paid off.
“It’s being a competitive event, the body builders are improving every year. I am happy to defend this title. My target is to do a better job in Mr Arnold Classic next year, probably win the first title for Zambia,” he said.
ZBBFF president Emmanuel Chimuka described the event a success and commended the bodybuilders for putting up a competitive event.
“I am happy with the level of competition this year, the body builders are indeed working hard in their respective gyms. Our target next year is to also have a women championship, hopefully more will come on board,” he said.
