POLICE IMPOUND TRUCK WITH SUSPECTED MUKULA TREE

Police in Kasempa district have impounded a truck loaded with suspected Mukula logs and unmarked Rosswood.

North western province commissioner of police Hudson Namachila confirmed the development to the Daily Nation in a statement yesterday.

Mr Namachila said the Scania truck, registration number BAG 8848 ZM with trailer number AJD 2397 T  which was being driven by Lawrence Chimoko of Lilanda Township in Lusaka and co-driver Lawrence Mwiimba of Roan Township in Luanshya was loaded with 104 Mukula logs.

“The truck was cornered at Kasempa turn off and the incident was reported by constable Mwela,” he said.

He said logs were loaded in Mufumbwe and destined for Lusaka.

He said a docket has been opened and the truck is detained at Kasempa police station.

“And the two drivers have been arrested and detained at Kasempa police station to help with investigations,” he said.
