SOUTHERN Sun Ridgeway Lusaka has injected US $7 million in the upgrading of infrastructure to enable the hotel effectively withstand competition in the tourism sector.
Hotel General Manager, Paul Norman, said Southern Sun Ridgeway was reinvesting in its products to be able to compete in the tourism sector.
Mr Norman said at a media briefing after a tour of the refurbished places in Lusaka yesterday that the hotel had to positioned itself so that it was the best in town.
“The budget was US$7 million and we made it within the same budget. The extent of the refurbishment was a lot. We need to position ourselves so that we are the best hotel in town.
“We also know that there are other hotels coming so it is going to be even more competitive than it is now. We ratify totally the guest that come to us so that we buy their loyalty,” Mr Norman said.
Mr Norman emphasised that inspiration for the refurbished rod focused on the rich copper and gemstone resources of Zambia.
