GOVERNMENT will investigate allegations of drug trafficking because it does not condone the vice, State House has said.
Special assistant to the President for press and public relations Isaac Chipampe said law enforcement agencies would take appropriate steps to investigate the allegations of drug trafficking in coordination with appropriate authorities.
Mr Chipampe was reacting to allegations by a Zambian politicians that President Edgar Lungu should tell the nation why he had been associating with some individuals implicated in drug trafficking in the United States.
The politician said the international community was suspecting that one individual was always on presidential trips to transport drugs.
The politician said many governments, especially the US, were now alleging that the Zambia’s head of State was also engaged in the illegal business the individual was doing.
